Back to the grind

Well, school started back today. And I catch myself saying to others "It's back to the old grind". I really don't know why I say that, because I absolutely love my job. Not that I don't love summer vacation, but other than being able to sleep late, it gets old after a while. I could not wait to get back to work. I started last week, but I was so excited to see the kids this morning. I woke up every hour or so all night to check the clock, hoping it was time to get up.
So, I got to school early, because 1) I knew it would be hard to find a parking place with all the kindergarten parents walking their little ones in and 2) I wanted to see the kids as they walked into the classroom on their first day of second grade. I just love 'em! They are so precious to me (and funny too). The little boy that I assist told some awsome stories about his summer. Apparantly he was very busy because first he and "CodyZack" (his imaginary friend that is very real to him) performed together at the CMA awards. (He gave us a little sample of the song they sang.) Then, he set a world record in the Olympics for swimming. Oh yeah and then CodyZack got in a little trouble. He was driving a car, swerving everywhere and driving too fast. The reason he was driving so recklessly is because he was drinking a Diet Coke "and he was drinking and driving". Another little boy said "Was he drunk?" and he said "Oh yeah, and he wrecked that car!"
We are going to have a fun year!
Grayson started third grade today. He also could not wait for school to start. He has the same teacher that he had for second grade. She is a great teacher. He said that he had a great day. But, that is about all I could get out of him.
Brandon had a "good"day. He started 7th grade. I haven't gotten much at all out of him yet, other than that he only has one friend in his class (and he's the one that bit Brandon last year). Hopefully, he will have a smooth year. Pray with me that he doesn't have hours and hours of homework every night like he did last year. That made for an exhausting year for all of us.
I pray that we all have a wonderful year and that you do too!!!

I pray you have a good year too and Brandon and Grayson as well. Sounds like it can get very interesting!!

To bad Brandson's 'friend' bites!! I'll also pray that Brandson finds some really GOOD firends this year that he keeps for a lifetime!

I enjoy reading your blog - keep it going!

I love Beverly Lewis and Anne of Green Gables, too.
