Summer vacation is here! Yeah!?!? Not so sure...

Well, summer is here full force and I may be admitted to Marshall Pickens before it is over. While I am happy for the break from school (mostly from having to get up so early), I am not so happy to hear my kids screaming at each other non-stop. Why can't we all just get along?!?!

I did get at little bit of a break when Brandon went to Table Rock Wesleyan Camp. He and Kendal have gone for five years now and love it. Well, Brandon loves it, Kendal still hasn't made up his mind about it. At least he likes it enough to keep going back. They went to Jr. High camp this year and it was a little different than kid's camp. They had a little more freedom which was fun for them, but it also meant that their counselor did not make them take a shower! Brandon's first shower was the last day! Kendal took one more shower just to wash shaving cream off, not to wash the dirt and stink off! He took a real shower on the last day though! They did brush their teeth and put on clean clothes at least. I don't know how their counselor could stand it! But, at least I didn't have to hear Brandon and Grayson fuss all week! Grayson was as good as gold all week.

Last week was Cub Scout Day Camp, and no I did not get the break from fighting since Grayson went, because I was suckered into volunteering. Of course I was put with the most rowdy group of boys. While they were the same age as Grayson (Bear cubs) they were not the group that included our "Pack". The pack from Liberty has parents that believe in medication for ADHD!!!! The group that I was with obviously had parents that are in denial!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS! They were so WILD!!! Brandon went as a Den Chief. Which just means that since he is a Boy Scout he gets that name. He was just there to help and he did help a little. He had a couple of boys that respected him (most just thought he was a kid and they didn't have to obey him). One little boy said that Brandon was his best friend! It was cute. Anyway, we made it through the week, but were very tired. The scouts had a great time and earned a lot of requirements. So I guess that was most important. We are thankful for a great Cub Scout Pack and for a great Boy Scout Troop also. Since, neither of my boys are sports minded, this gives them a wonderful extra-curricular outlet. They have made so many friends and have so much fun.

So, now we have a week of nothing and the fighting will commence. I just pray that they get over it eventually and become best friends later in life. I am Praying HARD!!!
